Crash

Her seizure this morning lasted for nearly an hour and took several rounds of drugs to end. For the first time, it affected her breathing, though she responded well to oxygen. She’s asleep nearly all the time, largely because of the dose of anti-convulsants coursing through her body. We are trying to be positive and hopeful, but this is the most serious chapter we’ve ever faced.

Jeanette just called from the hospital. Jordan suffered another seizure around 9am this morning. It was the longest yet–lasting nearly 20 minutes. The doctors have put her on a stronger medication. Continuing the two steps forward theme, before the seizure started, Jordan spoke to her mother and told her she wanted to go home. She’s resting now and will probably be out for a good part of the day.

Making Do

It was a draining day Friday. It began with a massive seizure, but ended with everyone resting as best they could. Jordan spent most of the day asleep, much of which was induced by anesthesia. A powerful sedative ended the morning seizure. Then later in the day she was put under general anesthesia so radiology could do another MRI and MRA scan.We had a lengthy chat with her neuro-oncologist. I’ve written of him before.

Jordan awoke this morning to another seizure. This one lasted more than five minutes. It finally ended when the doctors pushed sedation. She is resting now. We have asked for a meeting with the physician team later this morning.

Two Steps Forward…

There is progress to report. Jordan was conscious for longer periods of time today. She has been able to respond to yes or no questions by nodding, but she’s still unable to speak. Her eyes were much more alive. She even watched television for awhile and helped us choose a channel for her by nodding when she found one she liked.When I arrived, she was soundly asleep. While Nettie and I were visiting and catching up on the latest conversations with the medical crew, Jordan opened her eyes and looked over at me.
